Dear Tribal CCDF Lead Agency Administrator:

I am pleased to invite your participation at the tribal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) administrators training in Denver, Colorado on November 18-20, 2008.  The purpose of this 2 1/2-day training, entitled "Tribal CCDF Administrators Training: Meeting the Challenges," is to provide new tribal CCDF administrators with comprehensive information regarding the regulatory and statutory requirements of the CCDF program, such as required program components, mandatory fiscal and programmatic reporting, and Plan requirements.  Additional topics will include working with CCDF- eligible families and providers.

This training is designed for new tribal child care administrators, but is open to any tribal child care administrator who would like a refresher course in how to operate a tribal CCDF program.  We strongly encourage all new administrators to take advantage of this valuable training opportunity.

The Child Care Bureau has funds available to support the travel and lodging for one new CCDF administrator from each grantee to attend this meeting.  New CCDF administrators are those who have been in the position for less than two (2) years.  You must be the designated CCDF administrator from your Tribe to receive the travel support.  Substitutes or those new administrators who received travel support in 2007 are not eligible to receive travel support for this year's training.

The new administrator should complete the "Travel Information" section of the enclosed registration form and return it on or before Friday, October 24 to indicate the need for travel support.    All other participants should complete and submit the "Participant Information" section of the registration form and should use the information on the enclosed logistical information page to make their travel and lodging arrangements.

Please bring a copy of your approved tribal CCDF plan for the FY 2008 - 2009 biennium, current program policies and procedures (including health and safety standards), and current financial (ACF-696T) and program (ACF-700) reports, as a number of the training activities will refer to these documents, and there will be opportunities for one-on-one technical assistance working with these documents.

Please contact TriTAC at 1-800-388-7670 or TriTAC@namshq.com if you have any questions.

We look forward to your participation in this important training activity.

                                                                                    Sincerely,
